Rain Smooth Modifier
I just released an add-on based on an original idea for a DSP filter. The add-on is a proof-of-concept for a polygonal mesh smoothing algorithm, Pure Rain Smooth.
Pure Rain Smooth is a stochastic mesh-smoothing add-on for Blender. It applies noise droplets always pushing inward—never zero, never outward—exactly as prescribed by the Rain Filter. Curvature-conditioned magnitude and antiphase direction yield an emergent "low-pass"-like effect without explicit convolutions.
Unlike other methods (Laplacian, for example), the goal of Rain Smooth is not the final effect (a smoothed mesh) but rather the intermediate steps of the smoothing process.
By manipulating variables such as the number of steps, intensity, density, or random seeds (not yet implemented), the user obtains a smoothed mesh similar to the effect produced by rain on the upper harmonics of an ocean wave.
This algorithm presents clear differences with other smoothing methods, having it in Blender natively and non-destructively would provide a new tool for mesh smoothing.

thank for your consideration, I hope you find it at least as an interesting smooth method

Isn’t this sub site more for ideas? Like this is a good project but it’s not a feature request, which is what I thought this site was meant for.
