All Modeling Tools Should Respect Isoline Display
When using isoline display in the Subdivision modifier many tools will not respect the location of verts/edges/faces as they are shown. Instead they will only respond to or snap to the standard non-isoline cage. This makes tools such as knife or loop cut more difficult or even impossible to use while isoline is active.
I propose that all modeling tools respect vert/edge/face positions of the isoline display when it's active.

knife - no, because it will become unpredictable due do discrepancy between edit and evaluated meshes.
In your example if it was possible to snap to isoline verts. imagine doing a multi-cut, how it should be projected onto edit mesh geometry?
The knife cut line preview would optimally follow the isoline mesh. Even if this isn't possible, being able to click on the vertices or surface of the isoline mesh and have it cut there would at least make the tool usable. There are other tools that don't respond to the isoline such as vertex snapping. This makes merging vertices by dragging them into each other very difficult.
The proposal is a best case scenario; optimally all tools would be able to operate and preview on the isoline mesh. The reality might be that some of this is not possible, but we should pursue what is.
