Warning message, when modifier may crash your system
This would be nice:
In the preferences, you can put in a number (for example 1.000.000). this is the number of faces, where you get a warning message, when an operation or function exeeded this number. That could help from annoying "no response" messages and blender crashes... The warning message could be like this: "This operation will generate more than 1.00.000 faces. Do you really want to proceed?" ... Or something like this... :-)

Just now i crashed blender in a situation like this. Basically tried adding a Solidify modifier to an object, but unintentionally clicked on Skin modifier, which is just a slot above solidify.... disaster.
I don't want this feature because it makes me think about the time I've already wasted forcibly reverting to auto-saves over and over and they future users needs to suffer like all of us have. (joke)
I need this so much. Even the crudest of implementations will do. The amount of resources and outcomes that a particular operation will many times be basically unknowable without doing the operation, unfortunately.
When I say system below, I'm referring to windows. I wouldn't be surprised if other OSes have vastly better recovery.
Brain malfunction and you manage to hit shift+d instead of ctrl+a on a subdiv modifier? Blender's dead, system at risk of freezing.
Subdiv modifier, hand slips a couple of pixels too low and you hit duplicate? Blender's dead, system at risk of freezing.
You're working on somewhat high-poly mesh and you move your mouse too fast while adjusting subdivs? Blender's dead, system at risk of freezing.
You add one to many zeroes by accident or by not thinking it through and hit remesh? Blender's dead, system at great risk of freezing.
It's a minefield and I generally adjust and move numbers around often enough to mindlessly crash blender a fair bit and occasionally windows decides to join in.
Yes, this would be useful
