I thought it would be nice to have IES Light Support in the Blender Asset Browser.
What do you think?

Would just enabling lights as assets be enough?
When using IES lights you will always have a light with a node group. The light can be tagged as asset.
This fits in the current asset design where any asset is an ID block.
Could be that we should enable Light assets and it would already support IES lights.
If this is the case it seems like an easy task.

You can already do that.
Add an Internal IES texture to a point light.
Mark the point light as an asset.

Yes, but this will only be present on your asset browser, not in everyone blender asset browser like what is proposed here.
I work on 5 to 6 workstations, each having their own preferences, new versions, or I sometime work in schools with 10 to 15 students, having default things in blender (like what is proposed here
devtalk.blender.org/t/asset-bundle-base-meshes/21535/103
seem fundamental)

Putting this among the "Essentials" asset category (that ships with blender itself) is not mentioned in your proposal. That being said, I am all for packing some assets into blender by default, as long as it doesn't bloat it. Though, are IES light really essential?... Don't think so. I think it could be a separate, blender foundation hosted download.
Still, You can already have a linked asset library for workstations in the same network. You just have to link the asset library location to a shared network location.
It can also be a google drive folder, or similar, for workstations that aren't in the same network.
Or you can carry blender, with the assets, in a thumb drive...
It really isn't a problem to get the same assets on multiple workstations.
