Auto Correct Socket Values

Untitled.png I'm kinda of a speedy/messy typer so this happens often where I type a number into a socket but also accidentally enter in a letter and it cancels the entire renaming action and I have to do it over again slower.

Fix: Maybe it can automatically detect the numbers within a clutter of letters like:

kfo42ax = 42

dge4f5 = 45

2vf.bg6 = 2.6

gn4efg*cv2 = 8

Blender already has a lot of implicit conversions that makes the software enjoyable at an artistic / fast paced lever. I'm thinking especially about the fact you can plug color data into float, vector, integer, boolean, same goes in all ways. There is always some conversion happening and it's great, while other softwares returns an error and ask you to do the conversion by yourself (Vector3 to Float etc.. and only you can plug one of the values in a float input etc..)

And blender still allows to do manual conversions of course for more control.

I'm going a bit far haha, but I'm esentially giving a point to this idea which might indeed allow users to work faster, don't worry about typing in some letters in a field that only takes numbers.

There is one issue tho, letters are not always prohibited, since you can type in #frame to return the frame value. What would happen if you type dgefko#frame*zffh5 ?

maybe it can delete the letters by going left to right and checking if this current letter is involved in an action like # ... and if whatever word is within that action corresponds to a command like "frame" then don't delete it. 🤔

delete everything before # ✅

have an exception of keywords not to delete like "frame" unless they are not right after # ✅

My proposal to add multiplier letter suffix after the number.

1k -> 1000

1M -> 1000000

For small number input.

1m -> 0.001

1u -> 0.000001

etc.

This would clash with my proposal so no thanks 😅 Unless they add an exception for the letters K,M,U but I would find that annyoing if it randomly rounded up/down without me realizing I typed in a k m or u. Maybe this could be a optional setting.
