Import SVG bezier curve set in Grease Pencil object.
Please add method for load Bezier curve set from SVG file in Grease Pencil object and use vector graphics in Blender. Grease Pencil is difficult edit/move/fix lines and draw even thickness in grease pencil, hard draw high quality. But easy in Inkscape. I want draw animation frame Inkscape and import each frame in different frame of one Grease Pencil object.
I can import SVG file with Add On but each Bezier object in one file become different object in Blender, difficult for organize and control objects for animation. But if can import SVG file become one animation frame in Grease Pencil object, organize animation is easy.

If you could convert Curves to Grease Pencil using the "Convert to" option it would be really useful.
i am trying to develop a plugin for blender which will just impost inkscape svg files into blender as grease pencil and organise them as grease pencil layers from its svg file layers created in inkscape and add materials as per svg styles . Intend to complete it with in a week and post it on githbub for free use
Importing a .svg file (from inkscape e.g.) as a grease pencil object in blender – that would be so awesome! Any news on this one, since it's now almost June 2019?
Yes please! This would be so HUGE, as assets can be created in many other programs (including portable things like the iPad via Affinity Designer etc) and brought into Blender.
This would make a good Import add-in but will probably have to wait for a bit.
The Python API for 2.8 is still being worked on and we've been warned not to expect any particular plug ins to work.
It'll be up to plug-in developers to fix their code after 2.8 goes to Beta.
@ammusionist: Grease pencil support 2D Bezier curves? I think not yet. If can direct draw in grease pencil 2D Bezier curve, with stroke and fill, also excellent.
