Filter keyframes by type
It would be very useful to be able to filter the visibile keyframes by type (keyframe, breakdown, moving hold etc). Ideally this would also allow the user to step through the visible keyframes. For example, Up Arrow will step through only the 'Extreme' frames if they are the only ones visible. This would be particularly useful for cleaning up motion capture frames. The user can mark the key poses and breakdowns> filter>step through to test. Select all>unfilter and invert selection>delete all the unmarked inbetweens, this method produces better results than decimation.
This is the bare minimum request, the ability to 'select all by type' would be a further improvement. The current method is to use markers and select collumns. However markers are per Scene not Action so its a rather messy method.

I think that changing display of keyframes from diamonds to circles was a bad UI choice. I would have keep diamonds for animation editors. Because it is clearer to guess alignment of keyframe with frame number. Current situation is making them harder to distinguish.
IMO, that would be less necessary to filter keyframes if each type has a distinguishable shape. Extremes could be squares. Breakdown triangles. Moving Hold/ Keyframes diamonds. Jitter circles.
For the select by type you can use Animaide addon.
A function similar to "Select all by Type" will be implemented by projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/104758
