Path reference for external files, needs some attention...
Hi, I have been using blender for almost an year or two now, and I am grateful to be able to achieve my artistic goals absolutely for free.
But one thing that bothers me right from the beginning is the way blender stores the paths to references various external files like images, textures, pbr(s) and hdri(s) included in the project.
The problem is, Blender remembers the file path relatively as opposed to globally...
As an example, I have a folder in certain directory, where I collectively store all the texture images in one place, in order to keep everything organized. Now, every time I create a new blender project, I simply choose texture images from that specific location. Everything works great till here. I can close my project, open it at a later time, everything remains well in place. But, when I move the .blend file elsewhere or just make a copy of it and store in a different location, all the textures become pink (signifying that the textures are not found), and I have to manually reload each individual textures from that same old directory.
My suggestion would be to make that path reference global. No matter where the .blend is stored, it always refers to the files that the user initially defines.
