Particles in geometry nodes
I know geometry nodes is under a lot of requests and development ,but before geometry nodes there were particle nodes which got replaced by geometry nodes (but not exactly),because we cant use emitters or forces (physics in other words), And because I'm not a developer π ,I can't say "do that and do this"Etc, However, blender does have a very very good and functional particle system,so can't we just implement it into GN ?? We need physics nodes,so we can punch Houdini in the face and show those "blender is not an industry standard....blah blah" Im suggesting that the main focus is to drive full speed twords"Procedural physics system" (Pyro, cloth,Fluid,Rbd,) Please πππππ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί

AFAIK It's not that "there were particle nodes which got replaced by geometry nodes". It's that the BF is working on "everything nodes", particles emission got some very drafty development in the early days (to my knowledge, mostly just Jacques Lucke experimenting as an exercise to familiarize himself with the source code).
But the focus for a first milestone of "everything node" was established towards scattering systems first because that's what was needed for Sprite Fright . Then, focus went towards hair systems (which are particles) for Charge .
Making particles in nodes will not be a matter of "just implement what we have into nodes". Much like making hair, scattering, and overall what we have right now as "geometry nodes" wasn't just a matter of translating the existing systems into nodes. Plus I've seen multiple devs mentioning that the current particles system was basically outdated and would be deprecated (including Jacques who mentions it in the above video). Basic simulations are already a thing since at least november 2022 , and the BF announced focusing on simulations for 2023. If you want to know what are the plans for nodes, look at Geometry Nodes Workshop 2022 β Developer Blog
TL;DR : Particles are planned, but they are not the only ones in the queue and it will take time.
