Image Node / Image Input in Shader Node Editor
Geometry Nodes received a lot of love node wised, they implemented a lot of cool nodes that are very useful, as well as different types of input and output possible in Node Groups for example.
While this is very awesome, I truly believe some of these features could be added to Shader Node Editor without it being a development issue.
I love creating tools using Node Groups, and those features might be simple but really could improve a lot of workflows ! First one would be adding the image node as well as the input that you could plug to an image texture node, this way you can outsource the data of a node group. For example if you make a tool that scatters an image texture around, you won't need to go back in the node group to change the textures any time it appears, you could just plug the image node to the node group, and it all works perfectly.
I believe same principle apply to some of the data available in Geo-Nodes such as Object! You could have the object data node, without Geometry output because it wouldn't make sense, just outsourcing the Object data, for tools using different objects for coordinates such as "In Material" decals for example.

the blur node from geonodes is a hot candidate that should be ported to shadernodes...
Oh and Object node should definitely have the same vector output as the Texture Coordinates node
Yes, I am using this for exactly decals and an object node would be really useful. Looking forward to this being added.
