Rejection of the "Object" and "Editing" modes.

I think that the modes "Object" and "Editing" - very slow down the work in the program. Switching between them takes some time. Also, many users get confused about which features are available in Object mode and which are available in Edit mode because they are different. My suggestion is to make it into edit mode by double clicking on the mesh, where the object will become highlighted in yellow and the other mesh will remain gray. As such, the "Object" mode will no longer exist. If you need to select several meshes, you need to throw a lasso on them so that they become the selected "Yellow", after which, you can do manipulations with them. This will speed up the mesh editing process. Also, I would like to see the selection of polygons that are visible - Laso + LMB, and the selection of polygons through the mesh - Laso + RMB. It would be convenient.

How is double click faster than Tab? It's literally twice as many keypresses.

Selections in Edit Mode are preserved per object. This is super useful, each object has its own selection state saved inside.

I've never read about anyone getting confused about Edit and Object mode. Do you have any links to discussions about this? Perhaps people coming from other software because they're not used to it, but I've never read a Blender user complain about it.

As a frequent user of help forums (especially BSE), I can tell confusions about object vs edit mode happens, but I wouldn't call it an issue that need fixing, more of a paradigm that takes some (small) time learning. But the issues I see users having with are not with being confused with interaction modes themselves, but rather understanding the notion of objects and data, which isn't really straightforward when you have never heard of it. That leads to a lot of topics posted about scale issues, local vs object coordinates, ... But that's like learning you shouldn't use metal utensils on a nonstick pan.

I don't think getting rid of object mode or making it as hidden as possible is a good idea, quite the contrary, I would fear it would make even more confusion.

3DS and Maya have no interaction modes, they instead use component selection modes, effectively turning objects as a selection component the same way as vertices, edges and faces. And the available components change depending the selected object, and selecting objects in the outliner might change the current component mode.
It's not so different from Blender's interaction modes in the sense of it being always one click/keystroke away, though in practice the UX isn't clear much clearer about it, every possible tool that can be used on specific "components" are always visible but unusable.

People that teach softwares and come from other softwares often quote Blender's interaction modes as being quite convenient for learning, as the UI physically make things different instead of leaving it up to the user to discover things.
And those who do not teach but use both Blender and other programs (me included) seem to also appreciate Blender's interaction modes because it allows a more streamlined workflow and focuses the UI to what you are doing instead of having everything constantly thrown at your screen and making user customization more of a need for not going crazy instead of a good plus.
I personally am more confused by Maya's way of constantly changing component modes when I don't want to, I often switch without knowing it. Never happens to me in Blender.

Yes, you are right, I switched to Blender from Modo not long ago. Perhaps that's why it seems to me that the choice of editing in Blender is not convenient.

I would also like to say that it is not just a matter of slow switching between two modes. The thing is that you can edit polygons only in one object. If your model consists of several meshes, you will not be able to quickly move to the next submesh to edit the polygons on it. You will need to first go into Object mode to select a different submesh, and then go back to Edit mode to edit the polygons in it. It is very long and inconvenient. I hope you understand what I'm talking about?

You can click on the dot to the left of objects in the Outliner to switch to Edit Mode (or whatever mode you are in) in other objects.

You can also hold Ctrl and click to temporarily add that object to the selection in Edit Mode.
