Viewport Circle Select to work the same as Box Select

When using "Circle Select" in viewport mode, the circle needs to go over the origin of the object. However, when using "Box Select," it selects whatever is in view.

Since it's a visual operation, the origin points shouldn't have to be taken into account, or it should be an optional feature.

In my opinion, both behaviors should be the same since the only difference from the user's perspective is the ability to drag the box to draw the selection / brush the circle to make the selection.

There is this custom build , it adds a lot of options to selection.

Since both circle select and lasso select work the same, from a UX standpoint, it would be the box select behavior is what needs to be changed.

The origin rule makes no sense though.. I see two things that need fixing to match the box selection. 😄 To be honest a “select by origin” tick box at the top bar would solve all of this.

When you click something to select it, you don't need to aim for the origin.
Other softwares have the option for selection to happen only on origin or whole object selection, it absolutely makes sense to have the option in Blender too instead of relying on assumptions baked in tools behaviors.
