Selecting GP layers directly

Right now to select a greasepencil layer, one has to go in edit mode, isolate it, then select everything with A. It would be good to do the last two steps in one go, maybe by either clicking or Alt+clicking on the layer name in the dopesheet when in Edit mode. Then using Shift and Ctrl modifiers we would be able to do more complicated selections quickly.
