Grease Pencil Knife Tool

YouTube Video Link

The above video from 7:56 to 8:10 is the functionality I'm referring to. Instead of erasing and redrawing a line I don't like, or sculpting it, or extruding it into the shape I want, I could carve out the sections I don't want, and then Blender reconnects the shape along the path that intersects with the existing path/s from my current viewpoint. In a sense, it would be similar to the Boolean modifier for modeling, but in a 2D space.

Conversely, the knife's alt/ctrl functionality could be to build upon or connect existing paths while in Drawing mode. ___ Since my mind is being actively inventive as I write this, another possible knife tool that could be for edit Edit mode would act as a marque tool and be used to separate entire sections of a drawing. You can technically do this already in Edit mode already by duplicating what you have selected, but what I'm imagining is a tool that takes into account any fill space it intersects with and creates the necessary vertex points in order to maintain the shape the marque took.

I hope that this doesn't just boolean shapes but also allows for the separation of them like the knife tool for meshes. That way I can use the knife tool to cut up a bunch of shapes and then separate them all into different layers or objects.

If cell fracture manages to work with this too then that'll be amazing.

This would definitely make the 2d fx workflow much smoother, so I'm holding out hope for it! Building up and carving out is a super convenient way to block in and refine fx shapes, since they can change so drastically.

I have a feeling tools like this will come with time.
