Media Management in Assets or Outliner Editor
As everything can become an asset in blender, like brushes, it would be cool for video editing in VSE and just general media organization, to have them in an asset visualizer for all media used in a blender file, and its paths (if they're not packed into the file) with their file sizes.
I know we kind of have something like that in the outliner editor, using the Blender File display mode, but it's very limited, and different from the scene display mode, can't drag and drop.
With that, we could also add the possibility to create asset pools or categorize them in an independent way of other assets for better video editing and general purposes project management.
In summary, the assets panel have a way for us to see all the assets there are in our folders. My idea is to use it to see all media in the blender file listed there like the outliner, instead of having to create an asset, so we could see all the media in the assets panel.
Or, maybe a better idea, is to have another display mode for the outliner editor, where we could see the blend file media as we see the assets in the assets editor, with thumbnails as in the file explorer, and group them into pools however fits best for the project, like, we could add all reference images of one model to a pool, of all videos of a certain sequence to one pool, and the overlays in another, etc
