Auto-Hide Navigation bar
The navigation bar is primarily useful when switching tabs. To enhance usability, an auto-hide option could be implemented, allowing the bar to expand on mouse hover near the edge of the window. This approach, similar to how some browsers handle vertical tabs, minimizes distractions and optimizes screen space.
Additionally it could hide all tabs but the active one so its more clear what is active.
However, one challenge is that the navigation bar currently functions as part of the window's split layout, causing the content area to resize when expanded. Ideally, the auto-expansion should overlay the content area without triggering a recalculation of the layout beneath. This would ensure a smoother user experience.

That would be pretty nice, especially since you don't need to use them anyways (because of ctrl-tab & ctrl-shift-tab)
Absolutely would love it
