Per-Object UV Mapping Control for Linked Objects

I would like to be able to change the UV mapping on linked objects.

Example: One material with one texture with multiple color squares used for multiple objects. I want to change the UV mapping of my linked object material without the need to add and then link a new object with a different uv mapping as asset to my library, just to change the color of my vase from blue to green.

Objects can have multiple ones already, no need to make multiple assets for that, you can library override or duplicate the material to change which UV is used, or use all sort of color editing nodes if all you need is change a color.

Thank you! But in my case I need to change the uv mapping of the linked object, since I use the models as game assets that should make use of the same texture sheet and materials (Unity material, not Blender material). Creating a new material in Blender doesn't help me and neither does manipulating the visual outcome with shaders.

if this is going into Unity anyway, i don't see how your proposal solves the issue on Unity's side. Or any 3-rd party software.
