Smooth brush with dyntopo
It would be great if dyntopo worked with the smooth brush similarly to how Sculptris creates new topology when you soften edges. Often times I would like to soften edges with a low poly count without having to add more polys first. Usually I am working without visible wireframe, so it's not possible to tell if it is going to fail smoothing or not. Those errors create multiple extra steps which put you out of the creative flow.

This can already be done in the Sculpt Dev branch by unchecking the "Disable Dynotopo" checkbox on the smooth brush
no, it doesn't work, i want to have dyntopo on the smooth brush, why would disabling it enable it?
It does work, I tested it when I commented
Its a checkbox that says "Disable Dynotopo" which is usually checked for Grab brushes which basically disables Dynotopo
By default the smooth brush has Dynotopo disabled via the checkbox, turning off the disable, enables dynotopo on the smooth brush
I understand that it can be confusing to have a checkbox saying "Disable Dynotopo" but their reasoning is that you are currently using Dynotopo, aka its turned on for all brushes So there is a checkbox to disable dynotopo on specific brushes . Sure they could easily rename it to "Enable Dynotopo" and it would be enabled/checked on all brushes except a few, then the Smooth brush would have the box unchecked.
no, it doesn't work, I asked in the blender discord and they said: "Smooth brush doesn't create new geo. You can use draw or clay brush on very low strength to create geo first."
I said it works in Sculpt Dev branch of Blender builder.blender.org/download/experimental/archive/blender-3.1.0-alpha+sculpt-dev.7eb1dd08baa3-windows.amd64-release.zip
builder.blender.org/download/experimental/archive/
Normal blender is way behind on sculpt development, only Sculpt Dev branch has advanced dynotopo options.
Thanks for the info on this
