2.8 flat surface Z scaling, make it transform
I like the 2.8 visual manipulators. I was thinking though since a single flat surface cannot be Z scaled (in its own z axis), why not make it move then over Z axis ?.
So normally a single vertex can scale over its own x and y axis or both. But since its a flat surface it cannot scale over its z axis.
So my request is for single surface scaling operations over their Z axis, move them.
- this has the benefit that we could do more tweaking of meshes using scale operator. So we would need less switching ideal for fine tuning shapes.

The object scale changes in object mode, this is correct behavior. In edit mode, it should do nothing. Think of the situations where you need to check if all verts are the same height- you scale the z axis to find out. You don't want things to suddenly start moving on you.
That'd be an extremely inconsistent and weird behaviour.
@Simon Storl-Schulke:
So then what do you suppose currently nothing happens when you scale a single surface over its z-axis
@Peter Boos: Nothing happening is the right behaviour. 0 * x = 0. Changing this just doesn't make sense.
Can you make a gif or something visual? I don't get what you mean
@dddjef: I'm not that handy with gif's, instead i retyped the idea with less clutter.
