Viewport Cube like in Maya
Guys, there is in advantage to the maya viewport, what i like especially is that you can quickly switch to 45/45 or 45/90 angles just clicking on the corners or edges of the cube. How easily is it to implement that ?

If you start dragging in the viewport axis navigation control, and the press the ALT key, it will start snapping in 45 degree increments. So on AD products you would click the corner of the box, in Blender you rotate towards the corner and press the ALT key to snap.
You are writing about that viewport axes indicator?
Thing is that Autodesk patented a cube (seriously) and it cannot be used.
* @Pawel Piotrowski * Wow, gotta love Autodesk. They patent such a small feature... then quit using it.
I'd love to know if it's possible to keep the viewport axes when editing? I'm always hitting G, or R, or whatever and looking up to see which axis I want, but it's gone once any operation is started. I think it would be cool to keep it visible, or potentially have a second one appear next to it labeled with the transform orientation in use (global, local etc).
Note necessary to copy Maya. That view cube for Autodesk is boring compared to sleek of blender.
To go to 45 degrees, what I usually do is press 1 to get into front view, then I press the 4 or 6 key three times. These rotate the view 15 degrees to the left or right, respectively.
I believe you can snap to viewport angles if you hold [ALT] while you move the widget. Can anyone confirm if this includes the 45° angles?
yes , I migrated from 3ds max and I feel that this feature is crucial , but you can convert between orthographic and prespective way fast , from what I saw to adjust exactly 45 degree angle you have to set an orthographic camera with that , I guess we don't need it in working phase
