Mapping as a Modifiers similar to the nodes

It would be cool to have a mapping modifier for objects, similar to how the UV project works but affecting the UVs of the object (or even affecting the UVproject modifier if it is on top of it) this would affect all uv channels, or have an option to select specific one. I just copied the Mapping options from the mapping node, but could be something more specific.

hope you like it!

Not "instead", but "in addition". :P

* @-L0Lock- * yes :)

KeyframesAreCool

Pretty sure modifiers are in the process of becoming nodes themselves.

* @KeyframesAreCool * Blender 2.90: EVERYTHING IS A NODE! Menus are now node-based! The meshes are now completely node-based (no pesky vertices)! Lights, cameras, armatures are now node-based! Grease-pencil renamed to node-pencil! I can't wait!

whats the point of UVMapping in modifiers when the mapped texture needs to go to the nodes anyway?

* @jerzy.gorski.art * to be able to change the uvs of one of a series of linked objects without having to make another shader or break the link.

There is UV warp modifier that you can use as workaround for current projects, but UI is emm.. there is no direct control, instead you have to use 2 objects as factor to achieve loc/rot/scale UV transforms.

* @Pawel Piotrowski * yes, that is not very fun :( I know it is there, tried it but never ended up using it for the trouble it is.
