Automatically reverse the normals when appling negatively scaled objects.
As the title indicates, when scaling a positive scale object to negative, normals are flipped well, but when applying the scale, normals become reversed, and manually it must be corrected. I often have to correct the object normals for this reason, and I have never been interested in the result that is by default, I think correction should come as standard.

Makes sense to me, dont see a case where the current behaviour is useful for anyone, since it behaves like a glitch.
So, on the chance that the user wants her normals inverted, she'd have to do a <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Shift></kbd>+<kbd>N</kbd> after this operation, correct?
Yes but that's corner case. We almost always want have normals outwards when we apply scale.
Doesn't work with mirrored object, unfortunately. Object mirroring is implemented with scaling by -1 in respect to mirror axis. To be able to use mirrored objects, for example in boolean operations, one should flip its normals inside to get correct behavior.
If you look through how mirror modifier is implemented there is a specific step for normals flipping there.
