Fbx export for Unity - Bake All Actions AND Scene
After reopening a 1-year old project in unity, using .blend files, we realized that much had changed in the fbx exporter. Mostly for the better. But one thing changed that caught us by surprise and required some tweaking in C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 2.8x\2.8x\scripts\addons\ io_scene_fbx__init__.py
It is located at line 554, "bake_anim_use_all_actions".
This is great except for one thing : "Export each action as a separated FBX's AnimStack, INSTEAD of global scene animation ". For most projects having seperate actions is a real time saver, but for our project where multiple armatures are involved in a single asset it means dealing with many actions. The workaround was to set the default state to "false", so when unity invoked the exporter, it bakes the whole scene and gave us a single action called "scene". But changing this file depending on the project is not a viable option.
My suggestion would be to include a "scene" bake along with All Actions. If I recall correctly this is how things behaved previously.
