Shader Editor Viewport Scroll Position Does Not Reset When Switching Materials

In Blender’s Shader Editor, when working with multiple materials across different objects—especially those with large and complex node setups—the viewport scroll position persists between material switches. This behavior causes the Shader Editor to retain the last scroll and zoom state from the previously viewed material, even when switching to a new one. As a result, when I select a new object and open its material in the Shader Editor, the viewport often starts in an irrelevant part of the node tree (e.g., scrolled far down or zoomed into a previous section), requiring manual panning or reframing every time. This significantly slows down workflow and becomes increasingly disruptive when frequently adjusting shaders across multiple objects.

Request:

Please consider implementing a user preference or toggle that allows the Shader Editor viewport to automatically reset (e.g., frame all nodes or center on the active material) when switching between materials. This would greatly improve usability and efficiency for artists working with complex shader networks. Thank you for your consideration.

Better yet, it should remember the individual pan and zoom for each material.
