Constraints for soft bodies.
Recently I tried to create a muscle contraction simulation where the muscle (soft body) had to change its length (Physics, Softbody, Edges, Length) and move the bones attached to it. But I faced the fact that there is no way to connect a soft body and a rigid body in such a way that the tension force of the soft body affects the position of the rigid body.
In this video tutorial, a Generic Spring is used to prevent the cube from falling into the abyss, and the rope is simply held relative to the cubes. youtu.be/piggGdaVbMk
I would like to see Constraints for soft bodies and clothes in Blender. There are many possibilities to move soft bodies relative to rigid bodies using Goal and vertex groups, Constraints for rigid bodies. But this greatly limits the possibilities for creating high-quality cinematic simulations. With the help of Soft Body Constraints it would be possible to connect groups of vertices of hard and soft bodies with mutual influence. With this, you can simulate a bow and arrow, jelly with hard particles on the surface, spring mechanisms (like traps), realistic hangers for clubs, lanterns, connected soft bodies with different physical properties.
It's nice to see how Blender is getting better, in terms of the same accelerated Viewport shading, drag and drop nodes. I hope you will appreciate my idea.
