Layers in Grease Pencil to Layers for Textures

Hi!

I am sure you have thought about this... Could layer system from Grease pencil be adapted for layer system for textures? There are some great GP properties to use with layered texture painting in Blender. UI would be also easier to learn if the logics were the same.
