Auto Render Slots & Thumbnail View for Render Comparison

Dear Blender Development Team,

I would like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve the workflow when rendering images. Currently, rendered images overwrite the previous render unless a new render slot is manually selected.

It would be highly beneficial if each new render automatically generated in a new render slot. Additionally, having a thumbnail view of previous renders available below the render result would allow users to quickly compare multiple renders without needing to switch slots manually.

Thanks for the wondreful work so far on Blender and keep up the good work!

I'm not sure that I want 57 render slots down there...

It could work as the "Recent Projects" panel, showing only the last 10 or 20. And it could also have the option to be hidden. But it would be definitely useful.

In vfx production it's not uncommon to have a hundred images sitting in the slots. We also import plates directly into this area and set them to be "under" our renders. That way we can light in context.
