Include node sockets in search

Often times I don't remember name of Node it self but I do remember name of output socket it has.

Would be nice if "add-menu search" included nodes that have names of their sockets matching search.

Could also be preference or hotkey toggled expanded search. Snímka obrazovky 2024-12-20 162115.png

Your screenshot implies there are far fewer potential matches, than they actually are.

How many positive hits are you going to get searching Vector, Color, Fac, or Value?

true. That's why it's pertinent we already have this but only when dragging a socket from somewhere: the context already narrows down the possibilities. With no context, a search for "normal" would output dozens of possibilities.

These are the results I got from the search. The screenshot was just meant to show what the results currently are, also trying to imply the opposite, being lack of results.

I'm aware that it will be a lot, but don't see it as a problem. Of course it is not useful in most cases, but that's why it would be a toggle quite possibly in "OFF" state by default.

Because once only information user has about what they need, is node's output, this feature would come really handy. It would quite possibly save them quite some time trying to find it in regular menu, quite possibly forgetting what they were doing in process of searching for what they need, which was my experience as well.

But maybe that's just my skill issue idk
