VSE Delete auto remove gaps

It would be very handy to have blender remove gaps automatically when you delete a video strip, instead of having to go back one frame and then press "backspace". Also, this remove gaps feature could be layer sensitive, so that it removes the gaps from the strips in tha same layer and don't move the others. Also there could be a disable the "remove gaps" option for one specific layer, like when you have an adjustment layer on top of everything, but then you edit some part of the video below, and you cant remove gaps, cause there's the adjustment layer on top.
