Asset Browser Add marked Object to Asset.blend File.
Hi, I had an idea for the asset browser, and how that is implemented. My idea is that when you mark an asset it copies the asset and materials associated into one local blend file. This way if you want to change the category or change the item It's always in the main asset blend file. I suppose if you had a lot of objects they might all be in the world origin, or maybe offset somehow, but i'm not sure if that even matters.
I found it difficult to simply categorize my assets, a lot of times it says you have to goto the original file the marked asset is in to do that. I think blender did add a quick link, so that is better.
This way if you move the file that originally had the marked asset it doesn't disappear.
Maybe this can be an add on.
Maybe they already considered this and went with their approach.
Thanks.

This is covered in the manual, namely under Cross Blend-File Editing and Asset Pushing sections on future development.
Essentially the current design makes a clear differentiation between curating/editing an asset library and using it. This is important in a number of contexts, and it's often crucial in production environments (were the production asset library needs to be managed with great care). So the possibility for this differentiation had to be built into the core design. Now, that shouldn't ignore the fact that many workflows are different, and could benefit from this kind of on-the-fly curating/editing of asset libraries. But it's something that can be added "on-top" of the core design, even through add-ons (until there's a built in solution or to optimize the behavior for a certain workflow).
