Snapping made available to python addons
Right now, AFAIK, every addon that needs snapping needs to essentially roll their own instead of just hooking into Blenders existing (and expanding) snapping feature set.
A method to make queries into the snapping system would carve out a lot of code in addons that need it.

💯Add-on devs frequently find ourselves having to recreate from scratch a lot of functionality that is already present in Blender because there are no API hooks for us to tap into. This is a substantial waste of time and resources.
Could you detail exactly what you mean or what you are missing?
Personally, I have never fiddled with snapping via python, but at a glance it looks accessible:

That's just the snapping setting. What I mean is: when we write tools that allow the user to define points in space we can't snap to vertices, edges, grid, etc. through any Blender API, we have to build all those systems from scratch, which is not only a lot of effort to reproduce something that already exists, it will also be 100x slower than the native version.
