Image Sequences can have a "Step" input

Texture provides a method to import Image Sequences. Similarly, Compositor also provides a node to import Image Sequences. These do not currently provide a "Step" input. A "Step" input is useful so that images sequences like 0001.exr, 0003.exr, 0005.exr, etc can be directly imported without renaming it first.

that would be nice...

in the meantime you can set frames to 0 and animate the offset with the expression

floor(frame /2)

the /2 means on every second frame , /3 on every 3rd frame and so on .. use it on every animated parameter you want.

really useful trick

Thats a neat trick.. thank you...

Beyond that, I would like to see the 'frame' as a node input.

Additionnaly, what you're trying to do can be achieved with a driver. Set its formula to round to an integer and keyframe a reference empty for example

I think the "frame" node input would be a cool addition. I guess what you are thinking is similar to the "frame" node input in the Image Texture Node of the Geometry Node in 3.0 Beta.
