Rethink AI Render instead of AI MCP?
Recently, I saw a video where the official team planned to use AI to drive Blender for work, but I wonder if there are better approaches.
Currently, it feels somewhat unreasonable to have the driving software itself model

"Recently, I saw a video where the official team" You mean : "your team" on the project you are actually working on? don't you? And of course, it had to be Chinese...
Ah, I see! I was actually referring to the Blender team in that video. If you take a look at the article, it talks about the MCP approach, but I personally think that’s still quite far from being practical. We should probably start with more concrete and actionable strategies first. Additionally, I believe future 3D software should become much more accessible and efficient. Humans are meant for greater creation, not spending an entire lifetime sitting in front of a computer just to make a few thousand models or repetitive tasks.

La Jiang, I think users abroad and in China may have different mindsets. Fundamentally, the domestic CG scene is still largely outsourcing-oriented, while the international industry is a mature, high-end sector. That’s why attitudes toward AI are completely opposite. Domestically, since most work is industrial and production-focused, people naturally prefer convenience and efficiency. Abroad, however, there’s greater emphasis on manual craftsmanship, which occupies a high-value position. At the core, it’s a conflict of interests and positions, so constructive discussion is unlikely. It’s like how a CEO was shocked in Shenzhen by how open people here are to AI. Again, it all comes down to different industry positions and interests. I also hope everything can develop in a healthy way, but it seems nearly impossible to have a calm, rational discussion about AI as a tool for the CG industry. Even though I truly believe AI won’t fully replace creators—that it will instead help filter out redundancy and reveal the real value of human work—there’s little chance of meaningful progress right now. Maybe we can only calmly study human-AI collaboration models after AI has already reshaped the entire industry.
Over the years, I’ve talked with many people about Blender. We’ve all had lots of ideas, sometimes different or even conflicting ones, but everyone shares the same hope:to make Blender the best creative tool possible.I just wanted to hear other perspectives.
