We need a more optimized Retopo

I am in Taiwan and strongly advocate for the use of Blender software. However, I believe that Blender can be integrated in the Retopo project to improve its functionality. Blender has many useful tools, such as Set Face (Group), Geometry Node, and Grease Pencil. However, the current Retopo function is still not convenient enough. Therefore, I suggest that Blender can learn from ZBrush's Zremesh to further improve Retopo.

I believe that:

  1. Enabling Grease Pencil to easily define key Retopo lines (similar to instant Meshes) would be crucial.
  2. For Face Groups, block-based lines can be created and each block can be interlocked to align vertices.
  3. In the third step, Grease Pencil can be used to mark chamfered edges, and then automatically add a chamfer modifier after topology.
  4. Each Face Group edge can be offset by a fixed width to fit the model. These improvements can make Blender's Retopo function more powerful and convenient.
