ANIMATION - AUTOKEYING
autokeying should add keyframes only on already keyed properties to keep your animation clean. i use adobe after effects for puppet animation and post production and i have to say it's really useful because this way you know exactly what changes are being made.
new option to change the behaviour would be really nice.

This is already possible. Look in Preferences under the Animation section. You should enable the Only Insert Available check box under the Auto Keyframing sub-panel.
You may also appreciate the Only Insert Needed check box, too.
* @Jason van Gumster * this should be default :D imo
No need to go in the preferences to change the active keying set, it's right in the timeline already:
IMHO it should be the default, but the issue in Blender is that with "Available" keying set you can't create the first keys with it: it will tell you none are available:
Obviously it tries to key only the already available keyed values even when you never keyed anything yet, so you have to either turn it off, or manually add key to each needed values. Ihmo this should be fixed too, I can't see any point in not being able to key an objet you want to key.
* @Omgzdenek * So you should update your proposal. Because otherwise, this should be Archived because it's a feature Blender has had for a while.
