Bring back Eevee!
Since there is no way to leave feedback or suggestions on the blender website, I’m writing here. I would like to point out that in my opinion (as a blender user with 9 years of experience) Eevee development is going in the wrong direction. I'd love to see a fast, optimized real-time rendering engine! What's new in Eevee Next? Displacmenat support is awesome. Ray traycing - to hell! Why do I need Ray traycing in Eevee if I have Cycles? The overall performance of Eevee Next is currently 2 times worse than the old Eevee! the shadows got worse. My projects have to be adapted to Eevee Next. Eevee was created as a quick preview and pre-render option. Now they are trying to make Cycles 2.0 out of it. For what? Make a fast rendering engine in real time. You are moving in the wrong direction. Take the example of UE. Now many people use it to create cinematics and renderings!
UPD: If you disagree, please leave a comment and justify your opinion. This is important

I agree. But I would suggest leaving both renderers - New and Legacy
This proposal should be coalesced into a single thread: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/B8AN/
EEVEE next is going to have major improvements in the next releases, 4.2 is just the base foundation of the new EEVEE
4.3 and still same bad performance
Yeah, sure... Tell me more. It's been 8 months since then.
The performance drop is noticeable to say the least, but the value of true/real-time displacement and the promises of things to come has me cheering for EEVEE next. Maybe you should suggest an option to turn off raytracing - or swtich to simplified shadows mode? maybe something similar to this?
My opinion is quite the opposite : I love the direction that the devs are taking EEVEE toward.... but like you, I do agree that the performance drop can be challenging... but from my understanding EEVEE : NEXT (or just EEVEE now, for that matter) will get better and better (performance-wise) over time.
Putting my personal position on the matter aside, I don't think it's the right place for that discussions: RCS is a place to make and discuss feature proposals, Discussion of opinion about Eevee's orientation and performances have already been discussed on the developer forum. Though it has been closed once Eevee next landed, I advise anyone interested in the topic to have a good read, at the very least to get a wider view on the subjects:
Blender 4.2 - EEVEE-Next Feedback - Feature & Design Feedback - Developer Forum
It could probably be discussed more on blenderartists.org too.
As for RCS, you could propose to bring legacy Eevee back or to drop raytracing, but that's unlikely to ever be considered. Pointing out the need for better performance isn't a feature request and a constant need in any render engine development. But if you have any ideas of features to propose and discuss to the community, that would be nice.
Developer chat is definitely not the right place for this. I already asked a question there once and my question was simply closed :) blenderartists.org seems more suitable, but it is more like an alternative to discord where you ask a question on a certain topic and/or discuss something. My proposal here is quite specific, although it does not provide a description or sequence of actions. I just wanted to leave my opinion and feedback about the development of the blender. Since I am part of the blender community and a free person, I believe that I have the right to do this :) If blender had a Reviews and Suggestions item on its website, I would write there :)
