Dimensions based on selection in edit mode

It would be extremely useful to have the Dimensions information also in edit mode, and even more to have them change depending on the selected polygons. This could be really helpful when modeling something with specific/referenced measures, and I personally would find it more immediate than e.g. using the measure tool.
