Shift+S for search anything in any editor

Now Shift+S used for 3D Cursor staff and some selection actions. Also Shift+C used for Frame All. I never see somebody uses Shift+C and I think we can move 3D Cursor button from Shift+S to Shift+C (C - Cursor). Now Shift+S is free and we can set it to global search (S - Search).

Now somebody set searching button on Spacebar (1), somebody use F3 somewhere (2), somebody will press Shift+A then Spacebar in Blender 4.0 (3), in some windows we need to click on the search field (4), before we all pressed Shift+A then S for search (5).

It would be great to put this in order and make one keyboard shortcut to search and add something in any window. For example, in Houdini it's just the Tab key.

I want to reduce the number of clicks to search for objects, nodes and functions, since I have to click very often. Now we use 3 buttons (Shift, A, Spacebar) to start searching for something.

Yeah, I know about new features and I wrote it in the post. Devs think about use Spacebar after Shift+A and then typing or just typing straight after Shift+A. But my idea is to think about universal search shortcut for searching. I cannot press Shift+A, then press Spacebar and type "Randomize transform". I have to press F3 for that. I cannot press Shift+A, then Spacebar (omg) and then type bevel. I have to go with my mouse to the modificators tab, hover over the space, press Shift+A, press Spacebar, and type "Bevel" and press Enter for that. That's why I ask for Shift+S for any window and any tool.

i get your point, you want to design different search box in each context wndow or maybe search only shows results of that context window only...

I want to work only in main window. For example, I have a cube and I want to quickly add bevel. I cannot use Shift+A in 3D vieport for it. Okay, maybe F3 can help me? Also no, because there is no bevel in search results. I have to go to the modifier tab and Shift+A there... I think, global search for everything will be cool. But UX/UI designers should decide

I get that you want an easy search option, but I don't think co-opting Shift-S is the right answer.

When it works (so not currently in 4.x), I use Shift-S in the node editor to change the node types if I decide it's not the one I want. In sculpt, Shift-S is the shortcut for the smooth tool. In the dope sheet it's a snap to frame pie menu. My point is, there are an awful lot more things using Shift-S than just move 3D cursor, so using it as a global search would require a lot of shifting around that likely will interfere with people's established workflows.

On the other hand, F3 seems to do a fairly good job as a context specific global search key already. In shader and node editors it prioritises a node search, in the 3D viewport it does a search for objects to add, etc. If it's not quite what you want, it's at least close. Perhaps you can suggest improvements.
