Make symmetrize operator UI consistent with mirror modifier
Current symmetrize operator is very confusing to work with, you have to select the axis from a list with has 6 options for 3 axis, and since it uses local axis it gets even more confusing with rotated objects. While the mirror modifier is more user friendly with 3 axis and an option to flip them. The same UI should be used for the symmetrize operator since both do the similar thing.
edit: explain how the UI works
The new UI would only have 3 options instead of six to minimize clutter, and a option to flip the direction of symmetry like the mirror modifier. The 3 axis would be positive by default and enabling the flip option would switch the axis to negative.
Short clip of how it would work:
Python script with addon header (suggested by Eugene D) if you want to try it yourself : drive.google.com/file/d/1dfWe4btX6ONKyqgqzS3LYWPD9jmq_Fbo/view install as regular addon, and search for symmetrize

You can't really expand a 6 item enum like that, it wouldn't fit
* @h.goudey * Not all 6 items items are expanded, it only has 3 from the list, it could be all the positive axis by default, X+ to X-, Y+ to Y-, and Z+ to Z- and then a option to flip them that switches it from positive to negative, so if the option is enabled, selecting the options would do X- to X+ and so on
* @h.goudey * I made a python operator to demonstrate it better, with current UI, you have to look to see if you are on positive or negative axis and then select the option from the list accordingly, with this change you just select the axis and flip it if its not mirroring in correct direction, here's a short clip: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/733904524732923967/735460142342209566/1.mp4
and the python script pastebin.com/XXEvDJe2
* @rc12 * you should add addon header and post this on blenderartists.org , I think it will be very useful, or even on developer.blender.org Submit Code somehow
* @Eugene D * Its just the same symmetrize operator with different ui, so its just a duplicate, not sure how useful it would be. The operator ui is handled in C, and I am not familiar with C or the blender code so I cant submit the code either.I updated the proposal to explain how the UI would work.
