FBX Exporter - Move to XYZ 0,0,0 on export

Ok here goes, any idea if anyone can pitch this QOL to whoever's responsible for the FBX importer/exporter on Blender Studio ?

I work with unreal and I export lots of models and having to move my models before exporting to XYZ 0 is super tedious, especially if I export multiple times.

Hey Dragosh, you can try Epic's own addons for blender: github.com/EpicGamesExt/BlenderTools

The option is in there: img

you need to remove the blank spaces for the markdown syntax to work.

Seems like I've missed it in all the settings, sadly that's only a band aid until a DEV includes such an option in the base FBX exporter.

Getting access to send2unreal is a bit hoop jumping for other users

Thanks, Lauloque, there are no spaces. I tried using imgur and the links with markdown and bbcode it generates but nothing seems to work here. I've seen you also used imgur. Could be a bug?

This kind of special requirements are better handled with custom scripts. You can call the exporter from Python so you can do all kinds of processing to your scene and models before doing an export.

Anything non-standard like scripts make thing more complicated for the end user.

Every reinstall/install will require to fetch that script again and again instead of it being the function of the base Fbx exporter, that is often used in the industry with the exporting of models with xyz 0

I know it is more complicated - I've done such scripts few times. But how many options there should be? How about rotation? And scaling?

I too would like to have this option as it is quite useful, but it is sort of slippery slope - how many options would be nice to have in exporter settings?

List of things Blender could do better is probably endless. This isn't IMO in top 100 list of things I personally would like to see updated, before something more meaningful changes/updates. I don't remember if 3ds Max or Maya (for example) had such options either, but I could be wrong.

Also, installing Blender again doesn't AFAIK usually require much setup, you can transfer your settings, IIRC you even get asked to automatically transfer settings when installing a new version of Blender. So your custom add-on will be transferred like any other add-on you've installed.
