Make delete node (x) preserve the connection as default. So there is no need for Node-Wrangler (CTRL-x). Every node editor preserves the connection except blender. Most people are probably used to ctrl-x or already changed the shortcut.
I suggest swapping the shortcuts as the new default. x: delete node keep connection ctrl-x: delete node and connection

Yes it will be faster to use X then CTRL X to delete nodes quickly to achieve everything nodes mission.
As you said, Node-Wrangler does this already with Ctrl X . Node-Wrangler comes with Blender by default and is natively supported.
You can use
[[key]]to highlight shortcuts like Ctrl x .
