Increase node sockets size
Hi, I want to propose having the nodes sockets 2x or 3x the current size. Or to resize them dynamically on mouse over.
Dynamic resize relative to zoom level would be another good option. At the moment is very difficult to make connections wile zoomed out without mistakenly dragging the whole node.

Oh yes please devs please please Do IT .for a overview look of nodes setup zoomIng in and out for connecting hurts while the sockets are so tiny And the sockets could goes bigger when zooming out but not so big that they overlap . Or maybe the sockets goes bigger when the mouse hover over IT. blenders shader N Pannel show the option of the selected node and can be scalled so no zooming is often needed for me. Zooming in and out for connect sockets is hard in blender and losing the overview hurts again.coloramp control f.e. works better over the shader N panel specially when the ramp use a lot of color point ...p

* @TheRedWaxPolice * Thanks! I knew that I have to put it there but now I inserted some of the observations made here. devtalk.blender.org/t/nodes-socket-size-and-connection-highlight/7894
This should be customizable in the themes in preferences
Great idea, the dynamic zoom would be my favoured option.

Zooming in & out in complex shader trees is very annoying, and not practical. It is a common case scenario that you want to add nodes or tweak things while seeing a good (or even a moderate) number of nodes at the same time,and having to zoom in & out is a bit of a pin in the ass.
Active area is barely bigger than visible, so dragging the whole node by mistake is a common situation.
node wrangler is awesome, but that's not really a reason for not improving the usability of the vanilla blender, specially when node wrangler is not set as the default behavior, and has its own shortcuts and documentation.
I mean, the whole thing could be a paper cut, but I am absolutely in favor.
I like the idea of a magnifying glass view at mouse point on mouse over of the input sockets.* @juantxogargallo *
* @ Vyacheslav * You can't zoom if the nodes are far apart and this is also because dragging a connection doesn't pan the view automatically once you hit the window border.
Yes, I've always wondered why view pan isn't universal through the UI.* @Ge Ro *
* @juantxogargallo * 2, here a screenshot. I stopped mouse pointer when route snapped to socket. It is nice big area. And smaller socket forces to be more precisely and do not make a lot of visual noise. {attachment 4145729jpg}
So may be, only as option, there can be ability to increase socket size and string size too (to prevent overlaping)
* @ Vyacheslav * Changing the string size kinda adds noise I think? Could the associated string change color or get highlighted upon hovering the socket?
* @Ivo * yes, little highlight can bring more clarity, where rout snapped. Agree, that too large spaces between strings are noisy.
* @Ge Ro * if nodes very far, i select 2, autoconnect, then zoom and tune. Also I add reroutes.
