Navigation frustration.
It would be soo nice if you could press shift as you navigate with the middle mouse button - to slow down and make more accurate the navigation. I really love the way you can do similar when moving and scaling objects. Many times I find myself needing to align something and being frustrated by the lack of accuracy.

But shift and middle mouse pans the camera. How would you pan?
there is already speed modifier, MMB scroll
Why would you need such precision? Could you give some examples of you aligning something?
this function would be best used as you have described that shift-pressing causes a different, more sensitive translation.
