Zooming in and out on the backdrop in the compositor

In the compositor, currently zooming on the backdrop is bound to alt-v and v. I think it would be better if it were bound to alt-mousewheel up and alt-mousewheel down.

Or we can use the existing in viewport navigation and do something like this (the icon is subject to change)

drive.google.com/file/d/1rC7DrwGgT8Z5T0fWog1aJMouqaw64Miw/view

drive.google.com/open

(sorry I couldn't imbed the pictures)

@george.mitev: Hey, I like that a lot :) I upvote this proposal if it's with your implementation

@Wo! 262: thinking more about this a similar method could be used to control the stencil texture while texturepainting. the main advantages will be:

  • Using an existing workflow (users won't have to learn a unique way to utilize every single editor )
  • It is well suited for work with graphical tablets
lsscpp

Or CTRL+middlemouse drag as in 3dView

What is very incoherent right now is that ALT+Mouswheel in the Compositor scrolls the Timeline window below. That should only be scrolled when the mouse is over that window!

I suggest something much simpler. When the mouse is over a node, the zoom applies to the node tree. While on the background, you zoom on the backdrop. No additionnal shortcut.

@pcservice.dordogne: The problem with this proposal is when you are zoom way in, so you don't see your nodes anymore, you won't be able to zoom out.

pcservice.dordogne

@george.mitev: No at all ! Because, you will zoom to the mouse position which is over the node. And finally the node will fit the entire window.

@george.mitev: I forgot to say that it remains possible to pan the view in order to recenter one or more nodes. Then get the possibility to zoom back.
