Expand the remesh modifier
Currently there's a more advanced remesh options (for example fix poles) in the object data panel, this feature isn't present in the modifier

miss opportunity, see developer.blender.org/D4960 they had everything on their hands to do something great with that patch, and yet it was all wasted. what a joke
