removal of the property searchbar

Just wondering who else thinks it mainly screen clutter in the properties window ?.

  • When you learn blender you have to learn where things are, its like anti learning.
  • Another reasoning If properties got a search, then there is clearly something wrong with the design which one tries to fix by a search bar.
  • Instead of a search bar reorder it so people dont have to search (even the older blender users get used to it eventually)

* @-L0Lock- * This is a false comparison, OS search is for dynamic entities like files and apps with much higher scattering and variation than blender properties. That can be compared with the list of blender addons and keymaps which needs search but properties can be remembered and accessed by tabs and section hierarchy. If one knows the name or the function of a property he can remember or find the tab and section of that property because of the articulation and hierarchy which makes a better mental image and understanding. I think Peter is pointing to this concept with 'anti learning' phrase. When you say "remove system search bar" the opposite is that we remove tabular layout and keep a single search bar... is it OK?

I agree a search bar can be helpful or can be a kind of shorthand for finding properties but not as functional as the OS search for files.

I'm not a fan of searching properties, too.
