Globally link clipping distances of all 3d viewports unless explicitly unlinked
Working with models of different sizes, you sometimes need to change clipping start/end distances for 3d viewports in order to see small/close or large/far away objects. When I do and then switch workspaces, it always slightly annoys me that the clipping distances are not linked globally for all 3d viewports, but have to be set every time you change or open a new 3d viewport. Is there a way to have them linked globally with an option to manually override those clipping distances for the one you are currently working in? If not, is this easy to implement? Does anyone else feel this would be useful?

i made a addon to help with the clipping adjustments, let me know if it works for you blenderartists.org/t/camera-clipping-assistant/1247543
I second this request.
It would be convenient if there was some kind of "automatic clipping" based on the zoom level and objects sizes in the viewport. This way, the clip start/end values would automatically adapt their values regarding to the zoom.
These clipping start/end issues have been annoying many Blender users (and for a long time). I hope that someday, a solution will be found (natively in Blender or as an addon).
* @ xan2622 * autoadjusting should know condotions. For example how far from object you want to go. For example we have house 10x10 m. So Blender can not assume, if you want to work close to it or check how it looks from 1000 meters.
So what software can know? Minimal size of object (clipstart is 1/100 of it for example) Maximal size of object (initial clip end is x30 of it) Then, if you go far, you can refresh clip distance: Blender do not know if you intended to go that far or you jump there just accidetntally. And if you want full automatic clip range adjustment, Blender should harvest statistics of your navigation. It looks excessive.
I think, it can be even more global. There is already proposals for global rotation or other global behavior for viewports. And yes, I think global clip and focal length should be on by default.
I always wanted that.
I think this would be super handy - good shout!
