Snap 3D Cursor to center of face

This is a two-in-one request:

  • A snapping mode that allows you to snap the 3D cursor to the center of a selected face.

  • Undo feature for undoing a move operation on the 3D cursor. Currently, if you click the 3D cursor icon and click somewhere, pressing Ctrl Z won't move the cursor back to its previous position.

snapping the 3d cursor to a face:

Select a face → ⇧ Shift S → Cursor to Selected

Snap to Face Center

3D cursor undo:

This is a design decision that has been discussed and contested for a while.

It has at least two proposals on RCS:

There even used to be addons for it, but it seems they didn't survive the 2.80 transition, or Google buried them down.
