Expand the Simplify mode by a Boolean control

Every day we need a function to increase the viewport framerate when working with animations, that include Boolean operators.

A good way to improve the viewport framerate speed this is to expand the Simplify mode by some boolean switches.

I've prepared a screenshot with a proposal how to expand the Simplify mode:

  1. Fast mode: This mode switch all boolean modifiers to Fast node, when using the Simplify mode
  2. Inactive: This mode switch all boolean modifiers off, when using the simplify mode

Good idea! The execution I'd do it differently.

  • Fast mode and Inactive can't be used together, so no point in having them as checkboxes.
  • Toggling an option On for turning something Off ("inactive") is considered bad practice.

Solution

An enum to toggle between two options:

  • Disabled : Disables all Boolean modifiers
  • Fast : Forces all Boolean modifiers to use the Fast method

The Booleans checkbox in the panel header toggles the simplify setting on or off. proposal

Your solution nails it. My illustration was just an example to explain the basic idea. I hoped someone like you would present a better example that fits into Blenders current UI.
