UV Editor Revamp
The UV editor could use some TLC. it's not as great when compared to industry-software like RizomUV and Maya's UV editor. Here are some suggestions:
- Colour coding for flipped UVs. its a hassle to bake when there is flipped face.
- When Moving faces the adjacent edges should move along rather than being cut out.
- Grey out Texture when needed. It's sometimes hard to see vertices with the vibrant colours coming from the Textures.
- Ability Switch on and off the checker/Grid Texture rather than generating new ones.
- I'd also prefer it if it had some similarity to RizomUV or Maya's UV editors UI elements where all the buttons and commands are visible and quicker to implement but that's just my preference. Maybe it should have some of the buttons on the side panel like the way object/Edit modes. I don't know, anything to speed up workflow would be great.
I don't mean to sound picky It just feels hacky and slow to work with IMHO.

I think there is much to improve in uv editor: Like possibility to use grease pencil tools inside UV Editor and possibility to animate them inside uv/texture editor would be lovely feature for example animating lego faces or anime eyes :)
* @juhamukari * I agree that grease pencil would be a great tool for UV's
This one is already there (and it's nice to have the option to cut out faces in the UV editor): look for the "sticky selection" drop down on the UV editor header and change it to "shared location" or "shared vertex" and adjacent edges will move along with your UVs.
Personally, I would like to see the UV editor integrated with the 3D editor so that all 3D operations, including those created by addons, could be used with UV as easily as with a mesh. The only difference in 2D is it's in a plane....
